QbCheck ADHD Screening Service
In addition to my dyslexia services I offer QbCheck ADHD screening. This service provides a helpful next step for children and adults where there are concerns around attention, activity level, and impulsivity, and where ADHD may be part of the picture.

Dyslexia frequently co-occurs with other specific learning differences, including ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). QbCheck provides objective data, comparing an individual’s performance with what would be expected for someone of the same age and sex. This helps indicate whether attention-related behaviours fall within the typical range or reflect a pattern commonly associated with ADHD.

When considered alongside background information and professional observation, QbCheck can support clearer decisions around next steps, including whether further assessment pathways or targeted support may be appropriate. Many adults find the results particularly reassuring, as they can help explain challenges that may have been experienced and not fully understood for many years.
Quality assurance information : QbCheck has been developed by ADHD testing and technology firm Qbtech. Qbtech are registered with the MHRA in the UK and have a NICE approval for the QbTest technology. They also have FDA clearance in the US and TGA registration in Australia and are CE marked for the EU. Around 75% of NHS services already use Qbtech technology and have done so since 2002.
What?
What is QbCheck
QbCheck is a computer-based attention and activity screening task that objectively measures key behaviours such as:

-
Inattention
-
Hyperactivity
-
Impulsivity

QbCheck is a screening tool, not a diagnostic test. It is most effective when used alongside questionnaires, observation, background information, and professional discussion.
Why?
Why choose QbCheck?

This screening may be helpful when:

-
You’ve noticed fluctuating attention, restlessness, or distractibility.
-
A child or adult has co-occurring learning differences, such as dyslexia
-
You would value objective data to support school meetings or conversations with professionals (for example, a GP referral)

QbCheck can add clarity and confidence, helping to guide practical support strategies, school or workplace discussions, and decisions about onward referral.
Who?
Who can benefit?
QbCheck may be suitable for children aged 6 years through to adults aged 60 years who experience challenges with:

-
Sustaining attention

-
Remaining still when required

-
Completing tasks efficiently

-
Managing impulsivity

Advantages of a QbCheck

-
It will indicate the likelihood of ADHD-related patterns being present

-
ADHD screening results can be helpful to take to your GP if you are wanting them to make an NHS referral for a full assessment. It is recognised by the NHS as an effective screening tool.

-
A full ADHD assessment can be costly. The QbCheck can provide you with additional confidence to understand behaviours and support better referral decisions for both private and NHS referrals.

-
If you are unable to afford to pay for a full private ADHD assessment and are on the waiting list, ADHD screening can be useful in the interim. Depending on the results, it can encourage school or work settings to put in place strategies whilst you wait for a formal NHS assessment.

-
ADHD can be useful for siblings, if you have one child with a diagnosis and you are unsure whether you want to pursue and assessment for the other/s.
How does a QbCheck work?

A QbCheck can be completed either:
-
At home, using a laptop or desktop with a webcam (clear guidance provided)
-
In person, at my setting at LE3, Leicester
The assessment itself takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Following completion, you will receive a comprehensive written visual report within five working days, explaining the results and what they may suggest. if there is evidence of ADHD the report can be used to support a GP referral if you wish to pursue a full diagnosis.
Finally, this is followed by a 30-minute online feedback session, where I will help you interpret the findings and discuss results, and advice on next steps.

Please note: QbCheck does not diagnose ADHD. It is a validated screening instrument that provides objective information about attention and activity, and its results are most meaningful when considered alongside other professional information.
